  1. Step 1

    Turn the lights on or go outside in the sunlight. This keeps your body's internal clock functioning normally and enhances mood.

  2. Step 2

    Exercise can stimulate the release of mood-boosting brain chemicals into your body.

  3. Step 3

    Get plenty of sleep.

  4. Step 4

    Go out of the house and get a hobby. Having friends or hobbies will take your mind off of things that might upset you.

  5. Step 5

    Eat right. Eating foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids and folic acid help your brain produce feel-good neurotransmitters.
