Lower Your Cholesterol Without Prescription Medications Part I

There are other options in reducing cholesterol levels than only looking to prescription drugs. Consider some alternative ways such as:

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Drink 4oz of grape juice daily - make sure it is 100% juice, organic or natural. Studies have also shown that grape skins and seeds lowers cholesterol. Eat a lot of grapes and use grapeseed extract.

  2. Step 2

Use garlic in your food and you can also use Kyolic Aged Garlic extract-this can be in liquid form or in tablet form.

  3. Step 3

Using Enzymedica Digest- This is a digestive enzyme. This brand Enzymedica works great. Researchers believe that a shortage of enzymes is part of a mechanism, which allows cholesterol deposits to accumulate in the inner-part of the arterial walls (intima).

  4. Step 4

Using yogurt with live active cultures at least three times weekly. They work by preventing the reabsorption of cholesterol back in to the blood stream. Eating yogurt with these cultures together with a low fat, low cholesterol and low calorie diet can prevent the need for medication.

  5. Step 5

Use Niacin (Flush Free or no Flush)- This is vitamin B3.- works quickly in lowering cholesterol

  6. Step 6

Using barley oats on at least three times a week - in soups & stews, with water. Incorporate anything with rolled oats and oatmeal in your lifestyle. Have oat grain bread, oatmeal for breakfast, bake homemade oatmeal muffins and cookies and also use a lot of oat bran.

  7. Step 7

Using flaxseed oil daily- helps lower total and LDL cholesterol levels.

  8. Step 8

Use a teaspoon of ground cinnamon daily.- can use in teas, food, water, sprinkle in your coffee, oatmeal, cream of wheat, cold cereal, on your rice, apples, baked apples, applesauce and fruit salad

  9. Step 9

Exercising weekly- brisk walking, use a treadmill, aerobics, join a gym.

Tips & Warnings
  • You need to persevere and continually do all steps together to get the results you desire. When you use these steps altogether, you can reduce your cholesterol level.
