Use eBay Guides and Reviews to Drive Traffic to Your eBay Store

eBay has a section called eBay Reviews and Guides. Reviews are comments and ratings on products. Guides are instructional posts where eBay members share their knowledge and post "how to" information. Learn how to post in this section as a way to drive traffic to your store.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • eBay Account
  • Internet Connection
  • Time
  1. Step 1

eBay has a section called eBay Reviews and Guides. You can use this section to post information on just about any product or service. This is another place where you can publicize yourself. Just go to the eBay Help Index, type in Guides and Reviews, and go to the link.

  2. Step 2

You aren’t allowed to put links to anything outside of eBay in this section, but you really don't need to if you are using the Guides and Reviews to direct traffic to your store.

  3. Step 3

You want to write informative, helpful, professional guides and reviews about topics where you have some expertise or experience. You want the readers to see you as an expert, respect your information, then click on your link to visit your store.

  4. Step 4

For example, if you are selling infant products, you can write reviews about baby items, such as The Safest Car Seat, The Most Nutritional Baby Food, The Best Educational Toys, The Benefits of Organic Foods in Infancy, etc.

  5. Step 5

You can write reviews about anything you like, the reviews do not have to be about the products you sell. Go to the eBay Guides and Reviews section and read some eBay reviews to get a feel for what they are about. (The exact URL is http://pages.ebay.com/learn_more.html)

  6. Step 6

Buyers can also click the link to your eBay Guides and Reviews page from your feedback page. If you write some educational, professional guides and reviews, your customers may read them and that will increase their comfort level with you as a seller. Your guides and reviews can showcase your knowledge and expertise.

  7. Step 7

Writing guides and reviews on eBay also works for SEO as you are spreading your store name around the internet in more places. The more reviews you write, the more pages your store name will appear on. Some eBay members have written hundreds of guides, I think for SEO more than anything.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make sure your eBay Guides and Reviews are helpful, informative, and factual. Don't use the guides and reviews as a place to vent your anger, complain, or criticize.
  • Spend a little time writing your reviews and guides - don't just throw them out there. The information will be on the internet for millions of people to see and you want your work to be well written, factual, and error-free.
