How to Make Mom's Cornbread

My Mom makes the best cornbread. It's so moist and sweet, it's delicious with just a glass of milk.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

• 1 cup yellow corn meal
• 1 cup flour
• 1/4 cup sugar
• 4 teas. baking powder
• 1/2 teas. salt
• 1/2 cup milk
• 1/2 cup buttermilk
• 1 egg
• 1/4 cup oil

1. In bowl, mix the corn meal, flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.
2. Pour in the milk and buttermilk.
3. Add the beaten egg and oil.
4. Pour the batter into a greased black iron skillet. Bake in a pre heated 350 degree oven for 25 minutes or until golden brown.

Tips & Warnings

• Make cornbread muffins by baking in a 12 hole muffin pan.
• You may use a regular baking pan instead of the skillet.
