How Do I Make Oreo Cookie Balls
Turn a boxful of Oreo cookies into a decadent-looking dessert, coated with your choice of melted chocolate or candy coating, and embellished with toasted coconut, confectioners' sugar, sprinkles and other decorative toppings. You can experiment with different flavors for the Oreo balls by using original, mint chocolate or peanut butter Oreo cookies. Things You'll Need
- Oreo cookies
- Food processor
- Mixing bowl
- 8 oz. cream cheese
- Toasted coconut (optional)
- Confectioners' sugar (optional)
- Cocoa powder (optional)
- Sprinkles (optional)
- Candy or chocolate melts
- Double boiler
- Wax paper

Pour one package of Oreo cookies into a food processor and crush the cookies into coarse crumbs. Remove about 1/5 of the crumbs from the food processor and set aside to use as decoration later. Continue crushing the remaining cookies into fine crumbs in the food processor.

Pour the crumbs into a mixing bowl and add the cream cheese. Stir until thoroughly mixed and then shape the mixture into balls with a diameter of approximately 1 inch.

Pour your edible decorations into small bowls. Use decorations, such as cookie crumbs, toasted coconut, confectioners' sugar, cocoa powder and sprinkles.

Melt your choice of candy or chocolate melts over a double boiler. Dip the Oreo cookie balls into the melted candy or chocolate to coat and then roll the balls in your choice of decoration.

Set the balls on a piece of wax paper and transfer to the refrigerator to firm. Serve cool or at room temperature.

Tips & Warnings
If you do not like cream cheese, replace with 8 oz. of store bought icing.
If you do not have a food processor, put a few cookies at a time into a sealable bag and roll over the bag with a rolling pin to make crumbs.
