Keep your Trick or Treaters safe on Halloween. The little ones need to have fun and you need to have some peace of mind. Here's how!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Have your child go with other children they know or are in school with. We always get together with other families to make this a fun outing but in a controlled environment.

  2. Step 2

Trick or Treat in your neighborhood or areas you know. There is nothing better in knowing the folks who are giving your child candy. In fact, it is a great way to say hello without all the formalities!

  3. Step 3

Costumes need to fit well so the child can walk, see and trick or treat with ease. Sometimes this means you don't need all the accessories that goes with the costume to be out walking with the child.

  4. Step 4

Instead of trick or treating, a small party might be a better choice. This will allow the kids to have some fun without the crazy sugar that usually is congested with the holiday.

  5. Step 5

Consider trick or treating in a controlled enviroment on the Saturday before. Malls, churches and even amusement parks have schedule events that you can attend either free or by purchasing tickets for a small fee.

Tips & Warnings
  • Have fun on Halloween, but don't overdo it. Kids do want to celebrate but feel left out if nothing is done.
  • Never give out pencils as a treat at the door (personal pet peeve)
