What Fall Harvest party would be complete without a serving tray full of caramel apples? Making caramel apples is fairly easy, but it is a tedious task to make sure that each apple is covered completely and evenly with the caramel coating.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • craft sticks (one for each apple)
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup condensed milk
  • 1 cup corn syrup
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 4 T. butter
  • 2 t. vanilla
  • 12 small apples
  1. Step 1

In a small, deep pot, cook the first five ingredients on medium heat.

  2. Step 2

Add butter and stir constantly until temperature reaches 248 degrees on candy thermometer. Then add vanilla.

  3. Step 3

Insert craft sticks into each apple. Stick should be inserted through the top of the apple.

  4. Step 4

Using the inserted sticks as handles, turn apples in caramel mixture then place on parchement paper until hardened.

Tips & Warnings
  • Display caramel apples on a serving tray.
