Step 1
A HEPA filter, is a 12 inch deep filter that is a final filter in filter lingo. These type filters are used in surgical rooms, and clean rooms throughout the world. It is important that they use true HEPA filters.
-
Step 2
A HEPA filter begins at an efficency of 99.97%. Many large companys throughout the world actually claim there 99.95% filters are HEPA's, and they are wrong.
-
Step 3
Remember as you increase the efficency of a filter, you increase the resistance. It takes more power to push the air through the filter. Which forces your a/c unit to work harder.
-
Step 4
Remember when installing HEPA filters, you want no by-pass. Meaning you do not want air passing through small cracks between the filter and its frame.
