Take a lot of pictures of the house from outdoor and different rooms indoor. People would like to feel and see how is your house looks like before they would like to see the real place. If you like to rent out your house fast and get a lot of people interested to rent your house then you'll need to advertise it with pictures.

You can advertise it on the craiglist.org for free or pay small fee at rentals.com. You need to write a good advertising to get people interested to rent your place. You should mention about the closest highway or main street and how far from the point of interest such as shopping mall.

Also mention about the recent update you just do for the house such as new appliances, fresh paint, new carpet, etc. Mention what is included in the monthly rent, in example if you rent out a condo unit and the monthly rent include utilities or cable you should mention it in your advertising. If the rent doesn't come with utilities you don't have to mention anything in your ads, most renter understand they have to pay their own utilities.

However make sure you follow the fair housing laws when you advertise your house, never ever discriminate people based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, familial status (including children under the age of 18 living with parents of legal custodians, pregnant women, and people securing custody of children under the age of 18), and handicap (disability).

Mention how much would you like to rent out your house, how many bedrooms and bathrooms in the house, any extra room in the house such as sunroom, basement, etc.

You can also create brochures to advertise your house for rent and put them on the community boards. Make sure you ask the management before you post anything on the community boards. If you're willing to pay some advertising fee then you can use local newspaper or community magazine to advertise your rental house as well.
