Instructions

    • 1

Mix all ingredients (except chocolate frosting) and pour in cake pans. Don't fill the pans, pour batter to half-way mark.

    • 2

Cook cakes until done (approximately 35 minutes)and then let cool.

    • 3

Using a plastic spatula, go around the edge between the cake and pan to loosen cake. Place cake plate on top and invert. The cake should come out of the pan upside down.

    • 4

Spread chocolate frosting over the top and side of the cake.

    • 5

Loosen cake in second pan and carefully transfer it on top of the cake with the frosting. Spread chocolate frosting over the top and side of this cake, too. Serve alone or with ice cream.

      Enjoy!

Where is the chocolate in this supposedly chocolate cake?? Other than the frosting, I don't see chocolate in the list of ingredients.

Thanks for commenting. bali74: I also use lemon extract sometimes. I like trying different flavors. I like rum extract and use it a lot when cooking.
