Create this authentic Cajun dish to impress your guests. Of the many seafood recipes, this one will certainly remain one of your most requested. It is sure to be served again, since it not only is delicious and easy to prepare, but is also easy on the waistline.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Fresh shrimp,1 pound
  • Onions, 1 chopped
  • Bell pepper,1 chopped
  • Garlic, 1 chopped clove
  • Celery,1/2 cup, chopped
  • Tomato sauce, 8 ounces
  • Parsley
  • Green onion
  • Cornstarch, 2 tablespoons
  1. Step 1

    Clean the shrimp and set aside.

  2. Step 2

    Sauté onions, bell peppers, celery and garlic in olive oil. Cook until tender.

  3. Step 3

    Add the tomato sauce and water. Season with salt and pepper and Cajun seasoning. Simmer for thirty minutes.

  4. Step 4

    Thicken with corn starch. Add the shrimp and simmer for ten minutes. Serve over cooked rice.

Tips & Warnings
  • Combine cold water with cornstarch to prevent lumps.
  • Add more Cajun seasoning if desired.
