Step 1
Donate some of your gift baskets to gift auctions. Be sure to have business information in front of the basket in plain site.
-
Step 2
When giving gifts give gift baskets that are personalized to the gift receiver. This may seem a little simplistic but the idea is to become known for your gift baskets. So when anyone thinks about giving a gift basket, your name comes to mind.
-
Step 3
Rent space at local craft shows or other public spaces and let people make their own gift baskets (with your help) for special holidays.
-
Step 4
In Mid November promote your gift baskets to area business by handing out small jars of candy with your business cards and brochures.
-
Step 5
Attend or rent a space at the Gift buyers trade shows.
-
Step 6
Even if your business is not web based, take pictures of your products and set up a site on free web space. Many times the chamber of commerce does gives it members free web space. Put the information on your business cards to give customers live examples to look at.
-
Step 7
Well printed business cards are a absolute must. Work with a local print shop to design a low cost effective design that works for your gift basket business. Also talk to your printer about brochures, but due to cost this step may be best served after the business has seen a good profit. The free web site should do for now.
-
Step 8
Ask for referrals from satisfied customers. Always ask your client to tell their friends about your business. Word of mouth is the most productive and cost effective advertisement there is.
