Things You'll Need:
- White bulletin board paper (butcher paper)
- Toothbrush
- red water-based paint
- Scissors
- Push pins
- Masking tape or dark-colored painters tape
- Rubber knife or toy chain saw
- Plastic bag (optional)
- Paper glue
- Clear adhesive backed paper
- Baby powder
- Crime scene tape
- CD
- Candy or donuts
- Costume
-
Step 1
Begin with the background. Take white paper, such as bulletin board paper, and cut to fit the cubicle walls. Use red water-based paint and a toothbrush to spackle the red paint on the paper to resemble blood splatters. Be generous; the more blood splatters the spookier the scene. After the paint is dry, pin the paper to the cubicle walls with push pins.
-
Step 2
Create the crime. Outline a body on the floor. Use masking tape on dark colored floors; on light floors use dark colored painters tape. Put weird angles on the body for a creepier effect. Add a weapon, such as a rubber knife dipped in the red paint, enclosed in a plastic "evidence" bag. Or for a gory scene, get a toy chain saw and lay it to the side.
-
Step 3
Add police presence. For fingerprint dustings, place fingers and hands in a sticky substance, such as a mixture of paper glue and water. Take clear adhesive backed acetate paper and touch the non-adhesive side. Then dust the sticky fingerprints with baby powder. Cut the fingerprints and hand prints out. Stick these around the cubicle.
Place crime scene tape across various areas of the cubicle. Crime scenes tape can be purchased over the internet or from party or costume supply stores. Crime scene tape can also be placed across the entrance to the cubicle with push pins so that it can be removed and replaced easily. -
Step 4
Use sounds. Play a CD of police sound effects, such as sirens and a police scanner. These sound effects are available for download from the internet.
-
Step 5
Offer treats to cubicle visitors. Buy candy fingers or any red candy for a creepy treat. Or use the police angle and offer donuts. Serve in a policeman's cap.
-
Step 6
Pick a costume. Dress as a policeman, the victim or the killer.
