Things You'll Need:
- A good attitude, lots of fresh produce!
-
Step 1
Don’t focus on foods that you have to cut out. Instead, focus on the great things you can add to your diet. There are many great raw food recipes for things that you may be craving, such as French Fries, Pizza, and desserts. When you add these healthier foods to your diet, you will stop craving the unhealthy foods.
-
Step 2
Add a green smoothie every morning to start the day on the right foot. There are lots of different options for green smoothies. Something for everyone! In a blender add about 2 cups of water, your favorite fruits, and a leafy green such as spinach, chard, or kale. Go light on the greens at first to get used to the taste. If you want your smoothie thicker add a banana. In most cases, the fruit covers up the taste of the greens. Even kids enjoy these smoothies. The greens will help stop junk food cravings by giving your body the nutrients it is craving. In fact, that is why most of us are hungry so often. Our body is not getting the proper nutrients that it needs.
-
Step 3
Drink more water. Many times our bodies’ cries for water are mistaken for hunger. So make sure you are drinking enough. If you are eating more raw fruits and vegetables you will not need quite as much. You will get water from the foods that you are eating.
-
Step 4
Keep Moving! Make sure you get some kind of exercise at least a few times per week. Even jumping on a little mini trampoline is a great thing to do. It gets your lymph fluid moving and keeps you healthy and toned.
-
Step 5
Get rid of the bad stuff! As you add more raw foods and start to feel better you can start to focus on things that you need to cut out of your diet. Things like msg, partially hydrogenated oils, and artificial sweeteners can fight against you in your quest for weight loss. All of these ingredients cause our bodies to want to eat more food. They can also change your brain chemistry and give you an overall bad feeling about yourself

on 7/19/2009 This was a very good article. Step 5 is very true; I have noticed that eating certain things really messes with my brain. 5*
