If you're shopping for a double stroller, there are several factors to consider. Do you need a lightweight stroller for twins, a heavy duty double stroller or an all in one stroller system?

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Get a lightweight stroller if you plan to travel. Schlepping a heavy stroller through a crowded airport of on and off of a city bus can be exhausting. An umbrella stroller, like the Kolcraft double umbrella, is lightweight but flimsy, and not suitable for newborns. The Twin Savvy 7000 has an aluminum frame, like a Peg Perego and weighs in at only 15 poungs.

  2. Step 2

Get a heavy duty double stroller if you plan to do a lot of walking on city streets, you'll need one that handles well, look for a larger wheel diameter, meaning that it takes less force to push it along rugged terrain. The Runabout and the Peg Perego are strong and durable. Also look for adjustable height handles, so that you're not crouched over while pushing. If you've got a tall body frame, this is very important.

  3. Step 3

Choose an all in one stroller system for twins if you need the convenience of a car-to-stroller system. If you live in an area where you're frequently subjected to cold rainy or windy weather, you might appreciate not having to remove babies from their car seats. All-in-one stroller systems allow you to secure the car seats to the stroller frame.

  4. Step 4

Buy a double jogging stroller if you plan to walk, run or jog with your twins. Look for features like a mesh covering to protect them from insects, cup holders, and an optional kit to attach the cab to your bicycle.

on 5/16/2009 You need to give careful consideration to your specific needs before you make your purchase. There are two main types to choose from a Twin Buggy which is a side by side structure or a Tandem which has one seat in front of the other. Watch out for Tandems because often they are for children close in age but not for two newborn babies.http://twinstips.com/parenting-twins/out-and-about-with-twins/choosing-the-right-double-buggy/
