Catching your horse to get him/her out of the pasture not hard to do...

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • a halter
  • a leadrope
  • a few horse small horse treats
  1. Step 1

    First,with the horse's halter,leadrope,and treats behind your back,call your horse's name.

  2. Step 2

Now,if it doesn't come then walk up to it and show him/her the treats.

  3. Step 3

Next feed him/her a treat.[If your horse is hard to catch, wrap the leadrope loosely around his/her neck and clamp it kinda like a collar.]

  4. Step 4

Then, while it's chewing slip the halter on it's head and tighten it.[Also make it comfortable for the horse.]

  5. Step 5

Next, if the leadrope is around his/her neck, take it off and clamp it to the ring on the horse's halter.

  6. Step 6

Then, give him/her another treat, tell it good boy or good girl, stroke it on the neck and lead him/her out of the pasture.

on 8/24/2008 Yup, this usually works. Hopefully, after lots of treats your horse will just start coming to you. However, we took in a shetland for the humane society that was serverely abused about 5 years ago, and we still have to trick her to catch her.
