Things You'll Need:

• scratching post
• catnip
• dangling cat toy

1. Sprinkle catnip on the scratching post.

2. Attach a dangling toy so you kitten will be drawn to the area.

3. Place 2 or 3 post on every floor of your home.

4. If you find your kitten scratching on an unsuitable surface, gently guide your kitten to the scratching post.

5. Praise your kitten for using the scratching post.
