Things You'll Need:
- An intention to do only good
- A cactus
-
Step 1
office.microsoft.comCacti are not considered energetically optimum in Feng Shui. These are plants covered with sharp spines that tend to keep experiences at bay (think money, relationships, harmony...). These spines release points of negative Chi into our environments - in Feng Shui these are called ‘poison arrows’. If we get too close, they can stick us – not good. This causes cacti to score in the minus-range when it comes to warm-and-fuzzy.
-
Step 2
office.microsoft.comBefore we go into detail about this use for cacti, let us be crystal clear about the intention. What we will talk about here is not, not, NOT hurting any one in any way. We are talking about shifting energy. Altering an energetic experience to one more neutral, maybe even pleasing.
It is so true that what goes around comes around. The last thing we want to do is (figuratively) loft a cactus spine at an imagined foe. In mid-air the spine would transform into a boomerang and... you know the rest. Trust me on this. Someone flinging cactus spines in your direction is also a no-no. -
Step 3
office.microsoft.comWhat we do want to accomplish here is an obvious change in an uncomfortable experience of another person. This Feng Shui cure will alter the energy and possibly cause a physical distancing. Consider this when placing the cure – this would be harsh and extreme with regard to a spouse/partner when an opening in communication is really what is called for.
This cure has powerful results and should only be used with caution and a clear intention to do only good. This cure might be considered in a relationship with someone you know who you have tried to get along with and no act of kindness seems to help, a co-worker perhaps. Maybe a distant and demanding relative who is coming for a week-long visit. A next-door neighbor, the one who yells profanities when you attempt to inquire about the late hours of their teen’s rock band practice. We are talking about a relationship you have a vested interest in. -
Step 4
office.microsoft.comBecause this is Feng Shui and we have our intention to do-only-good well thought-out, here is what you might expect to happen sometime after the cure is placed. The incredibly irritating co-worker has transferred, quit, or (remarkably) just isn’t in your radar anymore. The in-law that never approved of you to begin with presents with, of all things, a delightful sense of humor! The rock star next door was discovered and the whole family moved to a mansion somewhere in Memphis! (Feng Shui is pretty cool, eh?)
The outcome intended is for a shift in the energy surrounding You. A shift to a more amicable experience. A shift to release the energy you hold around this person/experience that makes you feel stressed or troubled. The other person will not be changed to be more to your liking. -
Step 5
office.microsoft.comWhat is this cactus cure? Begin by locating the Fame and Reputation Life Area inside or outside of your home. It is the rear, center area (see How to Feng Shui: The Bagua, a Feng Shui Map in resources). This is the all-about-me life area and the location to address issues such as this. Now purchase a potted cactus. It need not be particularly huge or threatening. Remember in Feng Shui it is your intention that holds the greatest power.
You will want to place the cactus in your Fame and Reputation Life Area but not if that is a bedroom or the kitchen. If this life area is in a bedroom or kitchen find another room and place it in the Fame and Reputation life area of that space or if possible put it outside (back center of your garden).
As you place this potted cactus be mindful of your intention. Remember it is for a change in the energy you feel around a certain experience. The intention is about how You feel and a desire to change the experience for You, not them. An intention to change the person on your mind will not help you nor change them. The intention is for a shift to Your Greater Good. -
Step 6
office.microsoft.comAfter you have placed the cactus, envision a bright white light around the entire plant. Set an intention for this light to offer energetic cleansing and distance from the uncomfortable experience. As often as possible, imagine the white light growing larger and enveloping the plant. This light at the same time is pushing away and distancing you from the feelings of your experience.
-
Step 7
office.microsoft.comThen let the cactus ‘be’ for a time after the cure has brought the shift you desire. Once you have an inner knowing that the change is complete, you will want to remove the cactus. Take it, pot and all, and throw it away. This cactus has worked hard for you absorbing negativity and fear and transforming it all for the Greater Good of you and ‘them’. Throw the cactus in the garbage. Do not plant, or compost it.
As you are kicking your heels together remember to express gratitude to Your Higher Wisdom for this gift. It feels so good to not have that pebble in your shoe!
In gratitude and with an intention to serve.
