If you currently subscribe to your local newspaper, or if you buy one each weekend, then you will already be getting one set of coupons. This is a great start - but it is only the start! With a bit of imagination and creativity you can collect MANY more newspaper inserts without having to buy more papers.

Ask your family and friends to save their coupon inserts for you. Or ask them to give you all of their inserts, that way the job is very simple for them, and you can make sure to get all of the coupons out of the weeks paper.

Dumpster dive for the coupons. Apartment and small community dumpsters are often times packed full of the valuable coupon inserts. It isn't the most pleasant way to get coupons, but it does work!

Ask at nursing homes, retirement centers and libraries for their coupon inserts. They often times get many papers delivered to their buildings. You will probably have to sort through the papers yourself. But it is a worthwhile venture!

High school's and/or public schools can be your biggest source of coupon inserts. Often times they are given enormous amounts of newspapers to use for art projects. Get in touch with you local school and ask if you can come and sort through the papers for the coupons.

UPDATE: An amazing resource for coupons that I have recently discovered and wanted to pass on is gas stations. I have found great coupons for beverages at gas stations, and while the drinks are way over priced at the gas station you can take the coupon and use it at another store.
I have consistently found .50 cent off coupons for drinks such as Powerade and Smart Water. These are often on sale for $1 at the local grocery store which doubles coupons... so it makes for FREE drinks!

Gas stations also have snack coupons.
It will be hit and miss whether you will always find coupons at your gas station, but keep checking!
