How to use hairspray for quick fixes around the house

Hairspray has more uses than just keeping your hair in place. Here are a few household remedies for hairspray that you will find beneficial.

1. Household remedy #1: Reduce runs in pantyhose
   
   Stop a run in your pantyhose from getting larger by spraying hairspray on the run. Also since many runs begin in the toe of the pantyhose you can spray the toes of a new pair of pantyhose. The spray strengthens the threads and makes them last longer.

2. Household remedy #2. Protect recipe cards
   
   Many of my favorite recipe cards have been ruined or stained by food. Coat your recipe cards with hair spray to prevent the card from being ruined by kitchen eruptions. With the protection, they wipe off easily.

3. Household remedy #3. Extend the beauty of cut flowers
   
   You can postpone wilting of your beautiful fresh cut flower arrangement. A spray of hairspray can preserve your cut flowers. Stand 18" away from the bouquet and spray the undersides of the leaves and petals. This will prolong the blooming time of your flowers.
