Shopping for silverware is an underrated part of decorating a new apartment or house. In New York City, most people don't have enough space to decorate their apartments just how they want, but there is always enough space for attractive and high-quality silverware. If you are shopping for silverware, here are some of the best places to find it in New York City.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Go to Bridge Kitchenware on 3rd Avenue in Midtown East. Bridge Kitchenware is a great place to shop for kitchenware and silverware basics, but there's also a good variety of random things, like cookie cutters in the shape of bunny rabbits or antique chocolate molds. This is one of those great places to browse for hours. However, it's very likely you'll not only walk out of the store with brand new sparkling silverware but some other bizarre kitchen items you had no idea you needed!

  2. Step 2

Shop at Broadway Panhandler on East 8th Street in Greenwich Village. Broadway Panhandler is a large, open store that specializes in odds and ends that are all somehow related to the kitchen. Whether you're looking for a beautiful new silverware set or funny plastic plates with interesting quotes on them, you can find it here at Broadway Panhandler. The best part is the reasonable prices. There is also a lot of adorable plastic silverware (for children and adults alike) at this store.

  3. Step 3

Go to Fishs Eddy on Broadway in Gramercy. This is a solid place to fulfill all of your silverware shopping needs. There are decent prices and often great deals on sales available at Fishs Eddy. If you are looking for unique, original and hip silverware, this is your place! You can find fun silverware in extensive colors at Fishs Eddy. The dishware is also great. If you are looking to decorate a stylish and very New York City-style apartment, Fishs Eddy is the perfect place to get all your kitchenware needs.

  4. Step 4

Visit Bowery Kitchen Supply on West 16th Street in Chelsea. This is the go-to store for any and all essential kitchenware supplies. From excellent silverware to bizarre cooking supplies like mold rings and lime juicers, Bowery Kitchen Supply has it. In fact, the variety here seems practically endless. The silverware selection is great, from classic silverware to silverware on the funkier side. You can also buy silverware from other countries, particularly in Europe, making for a unique shopping experience.

  5. Step 5

Shop at Advanced Kitchen Supplies on Bowery on the Lower East Side. This is a kitchenware shop with a large selection. Customers can either buy kitchen supplies alone or in bulk. The prices are moderate as well. This is a great place to stock up on standard silverware and other kitchen supplies, whether you're looking for bowls and plates or meat slicers and peelers.

Tips & Warnings
  • Large stores like Bed, Bath and Beyond and Kmart (both with multiple locations in New York City) have great silverware and kitchenware selections. Be sure to check them out.
