Once you get readers to start visiting your blog, it is important to keep them interested. You can do this by keeping your posts short and by updating your blog frequently. You can also encourage readers to visit multiple pages of your site.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Link related posts. At the end of each post, make links to all of the posts on your blog that are related. If the reader was interested enough in the subject to read one post, chances are, she will be willing to click a few links to get related information.

  2. Step 2

Use the sidebar to point out important posts and topics. Showing readers the different topics that you post about may catch their interest.

  3. Step 3

Create lists. Make lists that tie together posts with the same topic such as The Top 5 Posts on Purchasing a Toy Manchester Terrier. These types of lists make it easy for a new reader to find relevant information and posts throughout your blog.

  4. Step 4

Write a series. Break down a long, content-heavy post into several smaller posts. Smaller posts keep readers' attention while leaving them looking forward to the next part in the series.

  5. Step 5

Be interactive with your readers. This is a great way to get readers to come back for multiple visits and to look at multiple pages of your site with each visit. Encourage readers to make comments and you should respond to those comments quickly.

Tips & Warnings
  • Links to other posts can be made at the end or in the text of each post. Links that are in the body of the posts can be more effective.
  • Keep your blog updated. If you are always adding new, exciting information, readers will be more likely to search through your site.
  • Choose an appropriate topic for your series. If you run out of information and do not complete a series, you will frustrate your readers.
