Step 1
Be sure to check the temperature. A hot tub should be comfortable for both parties. An ideal temperature is approximately 100 degrees but sometimes one person can like it warmer than the other person. It won’t be as fun if your partner is too hot or too cold. Make sure it’s ideal for the both of you by keeping it around the average temperature and testing it with your wrist. You can adjust it according to weather conditions. You will want warmer water when it’s cold outside if you plan to use an outdoor hot tub. You can still use one in the summer, making sure it’s set at a cooler temperature.
-
Step 2
Have towels handy. It sounds simple but towels are not just to dry off on when you get out of the hot tub. You and your partner’s hands will get wet and if you are eating or touching anything electrical you’ll want to make sure there’s a towel available to dry your hands on.
-
Step 3
Add some candles. Candles not only smell nice, they provide great ambiance. Whether you’re indoors or outside, have some candles burning. You can dim the lights and enjoy the candlelight while soaking in the hot tub.
-
Step 4
Add some music. You can have easy listening music on or even your favorite tunes. Be sure to keep all electrical equipment away from the water. Better yet, use stereo equipment that has batteries. If you are indoors, you can even simply turn on your house stereo. Never let an electric cord fall into the hot tub while in use. Keep your music low so it adds to the romance and doesn’t annoy.
-
Step 5
Add hors d’oeuvre and drinks. Finger foods and liquor can really add sparkle to your romantic time in the Jacuzzi. Don’t bring anything heavy to eat. Make it easy to get to and easy to snack on. Keep a bucket of ice handy if you want to keep your champagne or wine chilled.
-
Step 6
Add some spa scents. Spa scents are liquids that you put into your spa to make it smell nice. This cuts down on the chemical smells such as chlorine. These are inexpensive and you should use the scents sparingly. They come in a multitude of smells and are not typically overpowering.
-
Step 7
If you plan on having sex in the spa, use a lubricant that has a waterproof barrier such as Vaseline. A waterproof lubricant will work perfectly underwater and is usually spill proof, making it safe to have around your hot tub.
