Enjoy the Indian Summer Seafood Festival in Panama City Beach

The Panama City Indian Summer Seafood Festival in Panama City, Florida is held each year in mid-October. Thousands of people go for the craft booths, carnival rides, concerts and a multitude of local food choices. The event lasts for three days, but even if you just go for one day, there are a few things to know to make the most of your visit.

Instructions

    • 1

Find out prices and make sure you can be there. The festival tickets are usually $25 per person per day and you can often find discounted tickets. Make sure you can attend on the scheduled day, since your tickets will be no good for a different day. You can also purchase a 3-day pass. If you’re not sure of your plans, purchase tickets at the door.

    • 2

Find out what concerts are scheduled. If you do not have a preference on which day you attend, find out who is playing when so you can go on a day that features a group you are interested in hearing. Concerts are usually performed by country singers but the seafood festival does hold concerts by other groups, such as popular '70s and '80s groups.

Take cash. Some booths can take credit cards but most will want cash since it’s easier for them to handle. You also won't have to worry about generator outages when paying with cash. Be sure to take plenty of cash with you since food and crafts can be expensive for a family. There are carnival rides that cost extra. If you want to park closer to the festival, you’ll have to pay up front for parking. Parking is not included in your ticket price but you can get VIP parking if you purchase a 3-day pass to the festival.

    • 4

Dress comfortably. The festival is held outdoors and even in October, the weather can be quite warm. You will also be doing a lot of walking so be sure to wear good shoes. Dress casually; jeans, shorts and tennis shoes are all acceptable to wear.

    • 5

Bring seating. If you plan to attend one of the concerts, bring your own chairs so that you have a place to sit. Some of the eating venues have tables and chairs but those fill up fast and none are near the concert. Having your own chairs can help you be close to the concert without having to stand up.

    • 6

Go in on an empty stomach. There are tons of local vendors serving up the best in seafood. If you’re not a fan of seafood, there are also barbeque vendors and snacks as well as other food items. The vendors also have beer for sale so you can have a drink with your food.

Tips & Warnings

  • Be sure to secure your cash so it won't get lost or stolen.
