How to Play Yahoo Spades Online

Yahoo! games can be a fun experience. You can play many types of card, board and arcade style games. If spades is your cup of tea, you can play this game online with different people from around the world. Spades is traditionally a game with two to six players. However, in Yahoo! games, the tables are set up for a four-person game. The games are played in a partnership with the person sitting across from you. In a few simple steps, you will learn how to play Yahoo! spades online.

Instructions

1. Go to the Yahoo! website (see Resources below). On the left-hand side of the screen, you will see a bunch of links to different areas of the Yahoo! website. Click on the "Games" link.

2. Search the Yahoo! games page. The bar at the top of the screen will show you the different games that you can choose. Click on "Card" to view the different card games.

3. Look at the featured card game section. On the right-hand side of that box, you will see spades. Click on the "Spades" link and then click "Go Now."

4. Sign into your Yahoo! account. If you already have a Yahoo! account, type in your user name and password. If you do not, you will need to create an account to play Yahoo! spades online. To sign up, click on "Sign Up" at the bottom of the page. You will need to fill out the form, including your real name, gender and birth date. All the information that you provide will help you get your password reassigned in case you forget it. After your information is filled out, type in the security code and click the agreement check box. Once that has been done, click on "Create My Account."

5. View the ad that is displayed after you have signed in. Click the link at the top of the page, "Click Here To Continue."

6. Choose the room in which you want to play Yahoo! spades online from the page that pops up; choices range from social to advanced play. Click on the link of the room you are interested in.

7. Enter the security code that comes up after you have clicked on the room of your choice. Then click "Continue." Wait while the room loads. Depending on the speed of your Internet connection and computer, this should be fairly quick.

8. Look around the spades room that has popped up, and choose from five options: create your own table, join a current table, watch a match, set options or leave the room. Creating your own table allows you to set up options for the game and make the table public (anyone can join), private (only people that you invite can play) or protected (only people that have the password that you set can join), while playing at a current table allows you to join a game that is not private or protected. Watching a match is helpful to get an idea on how people are playing Yahoo! spades. You can also set your options to include a profanity filter, decline all invitations to play, change your avatar and include a link from the game to your Yahoo! Messenger. Finally, you can choose to leave the room and check out a different one.

9. Click on "Create a Table." You can now wait for other opponents, invite people to join you or you can play the computer robots.
