Instructions

    • 1

Spread out the small branches of the fall leaves on the main stem. Cut the excess off the bottom of the stems.

    • 2

Overlap the bottom stems of two fall leaf bunches. Position one bunch pointing up and the other bunch pointing down. Wire the stems together using the paddle wire.

    • 3

Position the wired leaves on the rake. The top leaves are placed in the scoop of the leaf rake with the opposite end of the wired leaves on the handle.

    • 4

Apply glue under the wire of the wired stems. Wire the stems to the handle over the wired stems.

    • 5

Cut the sunflower stems approximately 7 inches long.

    • 6

Wire the sunflowers in bunches of two and three.

    • 7

Lay the bundle of three sunflowers with the stems pointed down, over the leaves on the scoop at the top of the arrangement.

    • 8

Wire and glue the sunflower bundle to the wired leaves.

    • 9

Lay the bundle of two sunflowers over the leaves on the bottom of the arrangement with the stems pointed up.

    • 10

Wire and glue the sunflower bundle to the wired leaves.

    • 11

Form a six loop bow using the fall wire edged ribbon. Wire and glue the bow in the space between the top and bottom of the arrangement.

    • 12

Cut the pip berry stems approximately 5 inches long. Apply glue to the stems and stick into the arrangement around the bow.

    • 13

Cut the branches from the last bunch of fall leaves. Apply glue to the branch stems and tuck in the arrangement to give a fuller appearance.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you are having trouble locating a bamboo leaf rake, a regular yard leaf rake will also look nice. Shorten the handle to better fit an entry way.

  • Beautiful fall mums make a wonderful alternative to the sunflowers.

  • Don't let children attempt to make the project with a group of friends. It's more suited for adults.
