Things You'll Need:
- Large navel oranges
- Ice cream (we sometimes use Dreyer's Sherbet Swiss Orange, but vanilla, mango, and orange-vanilla swirls work just as well)
- Creme filled pirouette rolled wafers
- Mint or other green-plant leaves
- Tablespoon
- Sharp knife
-
Step 1
When you scoop the pulp out, no need to be fastidious about it.Slice a generous portion of the top of the oranges off, thinking of the navel side as the bottom side. Save tops.
-
Step 2
Try to line the tops up with the original cut from the orange, but don't worry about it much.Scoop out orange pulp/flesh. Fill with ice cream. Carefully place pirouettes within.
-
Step 3
Ready to serve!Cut holes in top portion of oranges: just large enough for the tops of the pirouettes to remain exposed.
-
Step 4
Place tops back onto oranges. Add decorative mint leaf to cover stem-portion of the oranges. Freeze and serve at the appropriate time. Bon appetite!
