How to Make an Autumn Apple Basket Centerpiece

If you need a quick centerpiece to brighten up your dining table and bring the feeling of fall indoors, then there is no better look for you than this autumn apple basket centerpiece. Celebrate the look and feel of freshly harvested apples along with the autumn scent of cinnamon. This basket can be assembled in less than ten minutes and will add fall ambiance to your entire table.

Things You'll Need

• Wicker basket
• Fall leaves
• Apples (red and/or green)
• 2 to 3 silver candlesticks
• 2 to 3 cream or green candles
• Spiced pine cones
• Paper towels

Instructions

1. Wipe off the apples with a damp paper towel. This way if someone decides to dine on your centerpiece you will already have washed the apples. It also prevents them from looking cloudy and gives them a shiny, polished look.

2. 

   Place the apples and the pine cones in the basket. Mix them together, putting the apples on the bottom. Then add a second layer that is apples and pine cones since the apples will crush the pine cones and make a mess if you leave them underneath.

3. 

   Stick some pretty fall leaves into the mix. Do not go overboard with the leaves. Three to five leaves should be plenty.

4. Place the candles in the candlesticks to one side of the basket. They should clearly be a part of the centerpiece, but not be so close that you risk setting the leaves and pine cones on fire.

5. Light the candles just before dinner or before your guests arrive. They will add a homey cheer to your table and a romantic glow to your evening.

Tips & Warnings

• Do not ever leave candles burning unattended or light them when there will be small children or rambunctious pets about. Always have the means to extinguish an accidental fire immediately on hand.
