To avoid feeling isolated, many homeschooling moms want to connect with other homeschooling moms. Unfortunately, many just aren't sure how. Since homeschooling moms spend a majority of their time educating their children, these moms may benefit from networking with other moms who share the same lifestyle. If you're looking to find other homeschooling moms, here's what you can do.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Search online for websites, chat rooms and message boards that cater to homeschooling parents and sign up to access their online social network. Many websites host bulletin boards or chat areas where homeschooling moms can connect with each other. Online networking is nice because you can do it from the convenience of your own home on your own schedule.

  2. Step 2

Inquire if there is a homeschooling co-op in your area. You may also find homeschooling co-op advertisements is places that families often visit in your community like the library, doctor's office or indoor playspace. Many communities now have homeschooling co-ops that were started by mothers who home school. One such co-op is the First Class Christian Co-op located in Clark County, Washington. If there is a homeschooling co-op in your area, joining one can be a wonderful way to secure resources.

  3. Step 3

Advertise to others that you home school your children. Mention to people you run into at the store, playground or library that you are invovled with home schooling. Whether at church or at your child's sporting event, tell others that you home school. Chances are you'll meet others who also home school and make a local connection that way.

  4. Step 4

Keep a look out for venues that advertise or organize outings or activities for homeschoolers. Look for homeschooling days at local venues like the museums or library. Take advantage of these opportunities to connect with other homeschooling moms.

  5. Step 5

Start a homeschooling network of your own. Create flyers with your contact information and post them at local libraries and coffee shops. As people contact you, create a list and invite each person on the list to an informal gathering. Consider a local park or library.
