Are you a dedicated female fan of the Denver Broncos who wishes you could be in closer proximity to the team and be able to inspire other fans to be more enthusiastic? You might be able to satisfy that longing by becoming a cheerleader for the Broncos, if you have the attributes they are looking for. There is a lot of competition for professional cheerleading positions, but, if you have the right qualifications, you have a chance of making your dream come true.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Prepare yourself physically. Cheerleading may look like fun, but it requires a lot of rigorous activity and you need to be in excellent shape to be able to handle all of the work involved. It might be to your advantage to work out at a gym and even get a personal trainer to help get you in top condition.

  2. Step 2

Pay attention to your appearance. The fact is that cheerleaders are chosen as much for physical attractiveness as they are for their ability to perform. You need to make certain that you are well-groomed and that your makeup and hair always look their best. The Broncos cheerleader squad wants individuals who will represent the team in a positive manner.

  3. Step 3

Become an experienced dancer, as Denver Broncos cheerleaders have to do numerous dance routines. Auditioning cheerleaders who have a background in various types of dance, such as tap, ballet, hip-hop, may have an edge over their competitors. You need to be able to easily learn routines and follow directions for simple choreography.

  4. Step 4

Work on presenting a bubbly personality. The Broncos cheerleading team wants people who are energetic and vivacious, so that fans will respond positively and enthusiastically. Being likable may be an asset and get you noticed.

  5. Step 5

Go to the Denver Broncos cheerleader tryouts. The squad is made up of 34 cheerleaders and all positions are up for grabs. Tryouts are usually held at a location in Denver, such as the Invesco Field at Mile High, which is the home field of the Broncos. The dates of these tryouts are generally around the latter part of March and early April. Don't worry too much about your weight or height, because the Broncos cheerleader squad sets no restrictions on how much you have to weigh or how tall you have to be to try out. Wear an attractive aerobics outfit and dance shoes that are easy to move in. The audition process usually involves a preliminary tryout, in which aspirants have to do a simple routine. Sixty people are selected as finalists, to move on to a second round of tryouts, in which more difficult dance routines have to be learned. The strongest participants are selected in the final round to become members of the Broncos cheerleading team. You must be at least 21 years old to try out.

  6. Step 6

Prepare for your interview. The finals of the audition process involve giving an interview and answering whatever questions you are asked. Since you will be working for the Broncos, make certain that you are armed with information about the team. Know the players' names, the names of the coaches, a few statistics, and be able to say why you would be a good addition to the cheerleading team.

  7. Step 7

Be available for all necessary practices, games, publicity activities and travel opportunities, as you will be required to attend all of them, if you are chosen to be a Broncos cheerleader. You may have to be away from your family for extended periods of time, so make certain you are willing to commit to the job, should you be picked.
