If you're planning a trip to Myrtle Beach, you already know that it has tons of attractions and fun activities--water sports like sailing, deep-sea fishing and parasailing and other activities like miniature golfing, bowling, concerts and amusement parks. On top of all that, there are thrill sports like bungee jumping.

From Quick Guide: Myrtle Beach for Beginners
Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Compare the two main bungee-jumping companies in Myrtle Beach. SkyRider, which was created by SkyCoaster (often seen at amusement parks), is located on 1201 Ocean Boulevard and can be reached at (888) 801-0303. Air Boingo, located on 311 8th Avenue North, can be reached at (843) 626-2863.

  2. Step 2

Compare what the companies have to offer. SkyRider, though considered bungee jumping, is more of a giant slingshot. It's 210 feet and you fling through the air, and then tumble like in standard bungee jumping. Air Boingo is set up like a tower and is over 80 feet high.

  3. Step 3

Visit the location, fill out the release forms and get ready to go. Because bungee jumping is dangerous, you must fill out liability forms stating that you won't sue the company should anything untoward happen. They'll suit you up in flight suits and helmets.

  4. Step 4

Get hooked up, make sure the cables have been tested and make sure you know how everything, including the rip cord, works. Understand it all thoroughly. Take a deep breath and jump. Don't forget to pull the ripcord!

  5. Step 5

Finish the jump. Once you've stopped bouncing and swaying, hang tight and you'll be reeled back in.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you feel nauseous, wait until the feeling passes before you jump. Crackers or something might help settle it, but you can always ask someone who has gone before you.
  • You might get cold feet. Wait until the feeling passes and then jump. You'll be glad you did.
