How to Make a Seashell Picture Frame
A seashell picture frame is a good way to display some of those seashells you have collected and don’t know what to do with. The seashell frame would also look good to set off photos taken at the beach. It certainly would fit the theme of the photo. It is a nice souvenir of any beach trip. Seashell picture frames would fit a nautical themed room or beach house, too. These are easy and fun to make. They don’t take much time to put together. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- Small Seashells
- Hot Glue Gun
- Hot Glue Stick
- Picture Frame
- Flat Work Surface

Get your picture frame and gather your seashells together. Spread the shells out on your work area so you can see what shells you have to pick from.

Preheat the glue gun. Set a glue stick in it.

Take one seashell in your hand. Apply hot glue to the side of the shell that you don’t want showing. Stick this shell to the front of the picture frame. Hold it for a second or two. It bonds quickly. Don’t use so much glue that is oozes out the sides of the shell.

Repeat with shells all over the front of the frame. Make it as full as you like. You can put shells in only one corner for a more subtle effect.

Put the shells in different directions and placements to give the frame more visual variety. Make sure you pull all the loose hot glue threads off after you are done.

Tips & Warnings
Use shells that are not too big or bulky. Huge shells will overpower the photo displayed in the frame.
Be careful using the hot glue gun, The tip can burn you easily if you touch it. Supervise any children who are helping with the project.
