How to Recycle HP Printer Ink Cartridges

The ink finally runs out of the cartridge, and you decide to replace it with a new one. Everything is fine now, except there is the matter of how to properly dispose of the empty cartridge. Read on to find out how to dispose of your empty HP ink cartridges.

Instructions

1. 

   Preserve the packaging from the ink cartridge. Inside of the packaging is a prepaid envelope for returning the empty cartridge to HP. Simply insert the cartridge into the the packaging with the address showing on the outside. Seal the package and place it in the mail.

2. Take the empty cartridge to the nearest office supply or electronics store. Stores like RadioShack gladly recycle ink cartridges as well as other electronics.

3. Take the empty cartridge to work with you. Chances are that your company has a recycling plan in place for discarded office supplies.

4. Reorder prepaid postage packaging from HP. Visit the official website of HP and use the packaging request menu to order another free return package.
