How to Create a Character on Soul Calibur

You can create a character more powerful than the original characters on Soul Calibur by starting from scratch and using the Character Creation mode. These characters can be based on your favorite character in the game, or they can be completely new. You can choose the character's fighting style, clothing, hair style and new weapons.

Instructions

1. Select Character Creation on the main menu. In the center of the Character Selection screen, there will be an icon that looks like a man's head, a red shield and green body armor. Click on it and press "A."

2. Select New Data Slot and press "A." Choose whether you want a male or female and press "A."

3. Select which fighting style you want by scrolling through the options. Each option will have a description below it to help you choose. You can always change this later if you want. Press "A" when you are done.

4. Choose your character's traits. Your Battle Traits options are attack, defense, maximum hp, maximum defense, maximum attack and concentrated skill type. To decide, think about if you like to be aggressive, defensive or a mix when you play. Your Equipment Traits options are light or heavy armor. These will affect what kinds of armor you will be able to buy for your character. Heavy armor will be plate-type pieces with lighter pieces mixed in, and light armor will be chain, leather or cloth. You can also choose if your character is evil or good. When you're done, select Edit this Character. This will take you to a screen where you can put on different types of clothing.

5. Spend wisely on clothing. Some of it will cost gold. Each piece will determine your stats (shown on the right side of the screen). If you put on a piece of clothing and one of your stats goes red, then the piece is unhelpful to that stat.

6. Push the RB button to go to the next screen. On this screen you can choose the colors of your clothing or make them all the same color.

7. Push the RB button again to choose your character's physical traits, voice type and hair style. On this screen you are also able to choose your character's hair, facial hair, eye color and skin color.

8. Press RB to take you to a screen where you can change your fighting style and upgrade your weapons when they are unlocked.

9. Press RB again to take you to the last screen. Here you can give your character a name, personalized background and unique pose. You can also run a test of how your character looks. If you like what you have created, select Finish. If you want to go back to previous screens, press the LB button.

Tips & Warnings

• You can unlock new clothes, fighting styles and weapons by playing the story, tower and arcade modes.

• Don't ignore any of the prompts that pop up, or your character could get deleted.
