Open the Evolution email program.

Click the "Calendars" tab on the bottom-left side of the window.

From the drop-down menu, select "Calendar Type: Google."

Enter the name you'd like to assign the new calendar. This is what Evolution will call the calendar; it does not have to be your Google Calendar login.

Enter your Google Calendar username. Include "@gmail.com."

Set the refresh rate. This is the number of minutes that will pass between calendar syncs.

Select "SSL encoding."

Select a color for your Google Calendar. This is the color that will be used in Evolution to differentiate it from your other calendars.

Click "OK."

Enter your Google password in the text box. If you want Evolution to remember your password, mark the "Remember this password" box.

Tips & Warnings
If you'd like Evolution to copy your events and appointments locally, select the "Copy Calendar" box.
If you'd like your Google Calendar to be your default calendar, select the "Mark as default" folder box.

I was just told on the evolution bug site that the google function is being deprecated, and that we should use caldav to connect. So far I haven't been successful at doing so, but I've been having all sorts of problems with the google connection . . . -

I cannot select the google calendar under the calendar tab, im using ubuntu 8, evloution mail 2.22.1, know why this is so??? -
