Things You'll Need:

  • Comic books
  1. Step 1

Set up a free account with Stashmycomics.com. On the homepage, click on the ‘Sign-Up’ link. You will need to provide your name and email address as well as create a username and password. Once the information has been accepted, you may login on the same page.

  2. Step 2

Dig out your comic book collection. Organize it by title. This will make it easier to quickly submit your collection to the catalog.

  3. Step 3

Login to the Stashmycomics website. Login will direct you to your stash page. All of your comic books and other information is listed on this page.

  4. Step 4

Scroll down to the “Browse/Search Our Database” link in the lower-right-hand section of the page. Type in the name of the comic book title as well as the issue number. Click on “Search”.

  5. Step 5

Click on the issue number, and select the category in which you would like the comic book placed. If you do not have a category for it, create one. Click on “Add to my stash”. If your comic book does not appear in the results, use the alphabet panel to search by title name. Click on the letter that is the first letter in the title of your comic book. Scroll down the list until you get to the appropriate section of titles. Click on the appropriate title in order to be taken to a selection of issues and series within that title. Select the correct issue number and select the category in which you would like the comic book placed. Click on ‘Add to my stash”.

  6. Step 6

Repeat process for each comic book in your collection.

Tips & Warnings
  • The number of comic books that have been and are being created is massive. New titles are being added to the Stashmycomics database on a regular basis, but there is a very real possibility that your comic book may not yet have been added. If this is the case, simply click on the “Submit New Issue/Series” quick link and fill in as much information as you can. If it is a truly not in their database you will be given ‘comic book points’ not only for your submission but for all the books in that series.
  • If your collection is filled with a variety of titles, you may wish to categorize by title. For example, among the Batman comics there are multiple titles including “Batman Gotham Adventures”, “Batman”, and “Batman Shadow of the Bat”. Otherwise, you may wish to categorize by year, character/team, or publisher.
  • You can create a wish list, and you can choose what is shared publicly from your collection and your wish list.
  • At some point in time you may want to fill out your profile information – especially if you would like to trade, buy, and sell comics with others. Knowing a little more about you can help others to feel a little more willing to do business with you.
  • There is a world wide ‘Free Comic Book Day’ that promotes titles and allows those not familiar with comic books to get a ‘free taste’ of them. Anyone may attend Free Comic Book Day and receive free comic books. Free Comic Book Day comics have value and are collectible, as well, and include many favorite characters and titles such as Archie, Jughead, Scrooge McDuck, and various X-Men. New comic titles and characters are also introduced, and special editions are created just for the event.
  • The UPC/ISBN addition/search feature has a tendency to bring up no results when the comic book is actually in the database, or to bring up results that are not correct. It is more effective to use the database search method in order to add your comic books – if the UPC/ISBN feature does not work correctly for you, you will have to use the database search method anyway.
  • Use caution if doing business. Fraudulent buyers and sellers are everywhere. Check a person out before trusting them.
