How to Repel Pigeons
Jokingly, pigeons have been called “Rats with Wings” by people who have been fed up with these birds. While that nickname is not exactly accurate, the birds can be a nuisance that does carry disease and generally makes a mess wherever they decide to nest. Fortunately, there are several ways to deter these pesky animals.
Things You'll Need

1
Purchase a set of bird spikes. Many companies produce temporary and permanent spike strips that can be laid down on roofing and ledges where pigeons like to congregate and make a home. The purpose of the spikes is not to impale the birds but rather to deter them from landing.

2
Spread pigeon repellent on your roof or in the area you are repelling pigeons, if you find that spikes aren’t visually appealing or working on your pigeons. These chemicals are not designed to poison the birds but rather create a sticky surface that is unpleasant to stand on and to build nests upon.

3
Find bird-deterring balloons. In Japan, farmers regularly use these strangely painted balloons that mimic the wing patterns of predators to scare off pigeons and other birds from their crops and property.

4
Roll a section of chicken wire across any area where pigeons have begun making a home. Chicken wire can easily be nailed to wooden surfaces. This requires some drilling and screws if you are covering stone with the wire.

5
Use auditory solutions. Many companies produce audio signals that are designed to repel pigeons. However, the effectiveness of this method is up for debate by many people. Regardless, they are widely available and normally take the shape of a small box with a speaker cone that can be placed wherever pigeons are making their homes.
