Dwarf miner, mining.

Of the collecting occupations (skinning, mining, herbalism) mining is the best because it gives you the most options. As a skinner you can choose to become either a leatherworker or a tailor and use what you collect as a skinner (leather). As an herbalist, you can only choose alchemy to make use of the plants you collect. As a miner, you can become either a blacksmith or an engineer. Both of these occupations allow you to make some really useful things.

Instructions

  1. Becoming a Miner

    • 1

Look for a guard. No matter where you are, you will most likely be able to find a guard. If you cannot find a guard, go to a town or a city nearby. Guards are not hard to see, they are usually well armored and when you put your mouse cursor over them, the cursor turns into a scroll with an X on it.

    • 2

Speak to the guard. To speak to the guard simply get close and right click on him/her. The guard will ask you where it is that you need directions to and give you a list of options. Click on "Profession Trainer" and then "Mining." and the guard will tell you where the nearest Mining trainer is. If it is in the area that you are in, skip to step 3, if it isn't, go to the area/city that the guard tells you and once you get there, repeat steps 1 and 2.

    • 3

Follow the directions the guard gives you. If you are near a Mining trainer, the guard will put a yellow arrow on your mini-map pointing you in the right direction. Once you get close, or if you open your world map, the Mining trainer's position will be marked with a red flag with an exclamation point (!) on it.

    • 4

Speak to the trainer. A Mining trainer is usually holding a mining pick and when you put your mouse over him/her the cursor turns into a brown book. To speak to the trainer right click on him/her and, if you don't already have 2 occupations, he/she will give you the option of training as an apprentice miner. Click Train and you will automatically get trained as a miner.

Tips & Warnings

  • Mining goes great with either blacksmithing, engineering or some other collecting occupation.

  • You can only have 2 occupations at once so choose wisely.
