FeedDemon is a free and easy-to-use RSS reader that can help you organize and simply your online life. It stands above other readers, because it synchronizes across multiple computers. It even has a web interface, so you can check your feeds anywhere there’s an Internet connection.

Visit the NewsGator site and download FeedDemon, their desktop RSS reader. The installer will ask you to create an account for synchronization purposes.

Keep an eye out for the orange-and-white RSS feed icon as you surf the web. In Firefox, it will pop up in the address bar every time you visit a page that supports RSS. If you want to subscribe to a page, click the RSS icon, and Firefox will ask what program you use for RSS feeds. Select FeedDemon from the drop-down menu. If you’re using IE7, things are only slightly more complex. Just install the NewsGator Toolbar found on the company’s website. Then, when you want to subscribe to a feed on a page, click the “Subscribe” button in the NewsGator Toolbar.

Subscribe to a feed and FeedDemon will open a confirmation dialogue. Confirm you want to subscribe and exit the dialogue. Your feed will now appear in FeedDemon, and new stories will be pulled from the web every few minutes. This is the key to saving time with FeedDemon. No longer do you have to spend time surfing to your favorite sites, FeedDemon puts them all in one place for you.

Simplify your life by subscribing to the feed of websites you visit daily. Then, organize your feeds into groups for easy reading. Play around with the different views in FeedDemon. Newspaper view is great because you can quickly scan through tons of information.

Visit the NewsGator website and sign in with the username and password you chose during the FeedDemon installation if you are away from your home computer. You will see all your feeds right there in the browser window.
