How to Make Paper Dice
Making paper dice is a great first project if you are new to paper folding. Although there are several folds, all of them are at right angles, and none of them overlap. Paper dice are also neat because you can use them when you are done. If you are careful to cut and fold accurately, you can make paper dice that not only look good but also roll well.

1
Download a design for folding paper dice, such as the one linked to in Resources below. You can fold many different shapes into a cube, so you may find something that looks quite different but also makes a six-sided die.
-
2
Expand the die. Import the image into a graphics editor and make it larger. Although this step is unnecessary, it will make it a bit easier to cut out and fold.
-
-
3
Print out the die pattern and, using a craft knife or scissors, cut it out. Go slowly, and make the cuts as accurate as possible.
-
4
Make a 90-degree fold at each edge. It should form a cube with tabs to hold it together.
-
5
Use a toothpick to apply a small dab of white glue to each tab. Then fasten the tabs inside of the corresponding sides.

Tips & Warnings
Try to use as little glue as possible. This will help prevent the die from becoming lopsided and rolling poorly.
This design can be a bit difficult for kids. For young paper folders, print it out larger and be available to help.
