Make a Fleece Throw Pillow
-
1
Decide what size pillow and how you want to decorate it. If you use a piping, you will need to use a polyfill. If you use an iron on appliqué or sew on design you should put it on before you start to to sew the pillow together. Gather all of items together and lay out your material.
-
2
Cut 2 pieces of material the same size. Make your pieces one inch larger than you want your finished pillow to be. For instance, if you are making 14 by14-inch pillows you will need to cut 15 by 15-inch pieces. If you are using piping you can buy it already covered with material to sew into the seams or you can make your own with the fleece. Cover the piping with the material and leave at least 1/2-inch on both sides. Sew real close to the piping and make enough to go around the entire pillow. It is difficult to make piping with fleece because stretches so easily. But if you take your time and be careful, you can do it without stretching it. Sew on any decoration to one piece.

3
Place your pieces together wrong side out. Sometimes with fleece you can't tell which side is which, if you can't tell, it doesn't matter. If you are using piping, place the piping material between the two pieces of material and the piping on the inside. Sew a 1/2-inch seam on three sides.
-
4
Turn right side out and insert your form. You can sew the last side by machine or hand stitch. You will not be able to see the different stitch as much if you hand stitch. If you are using polyfill, you can sew the last side up to the last inch and push the fill in. Then you only have to hand stitch that last inch. If you are using piping you have to sew up the last side to the last inch. You will not be able to sew in the piping properly by hand. Fill and hand sew the last inch.

5
Cut your material 6 inches bigger than the size of your form. Place over the form with the right side out and pin together at the edge of the form.
-
6
Sew the fleece as close to the form as possible all the way around. With both pieces of material held together, cut out the corners.
-
7
Cut from the outside edge of the fleece to 1/4-inch before your sew line. Be careful not to cut threw your sew line or it will come apart. Cut lines every 1/2-inch all the way around. It's that simple, you're done.

Tips & Warnings
You can use fabric glue and put your decoration on when you are finished if you prefer, but it will stay on longer if you sew it on before you put the pillow together.
