Despite a somewhat rocky beginning, Sony's PlayStation Portable is proving itself to be a viable competitor; however, not completely dethroning Nintendo's GameBoy and DS hand held consoles. Upgrades are being released for the PSP all the the time, with additional features including the ability to listen to internet radio on the go. By following a few simple steps, you can make sure you're getting the most out of your PSP's internet radio.

Things You'll Need:

  • A PSP
  • A wireless Internet cConnection
  • The latest PSP firmware
  1. Step 1

    Make sure that you have the latest firmware for your PSP. You can do this by checking the current version in system information. To get internet radio, you have to have version 3.8. If you don't, download the newest firmware upgrade from the Sony PlayStation Portable website.

  2. Step 2

    Select "Internet Radio Player" under the "Network" tab on your PSP. The unit will then attempt to connect to a wireless access point and obtain your IP address. The system is "connecting", so to speak.

  3. Step 3

    Select "yes" when asked if you want to "run the plug in embedded in this page." This will make sure that everything displays properly once the Internet Radio Player loads.

  4. Step 4

    Scroll down to browse the list of available genres. You can choose one by simply clicking on it, and the station will play automatically. If you have a specific internet radio channel in mind, you can type it in by selecting "Other Stations" from the main menu. Congratulations, you can now listen to streaming internet radio wherever you go!

  • To ensure the best from your PSP, always make sure that you update to the latest firmware whenever it becomes available.
