Stick to what is in season at the time of your wedding. Buying flowers that are out of season will send the costs upward. Speak to your suppliers about your budget, and be firm. Don't let them talk you into spending more unless you really need to. Remember, you're the boss.

Have your ceremony during the Christmas season or right after the Easter Holidays. This is especially handy if your having a church wedding, as they will likely already be decorated. January weddings can also save, as many churches will leave some of the decorations from the holiday season for you. However, avoid February if at all possible. The Valentine's Day season marks the price of flowers up enormously.

Consider having your ceremony at a park or a garden. This is especially handy if you're going to have a wedding in the warmer months. Most will already have flowers and plants in abundance, which saves money and a lot of hassle. You may incur a small charge for this, but you will likely come out ahead when you consider the savings on flowers.

Check the schedule at your chosen venue. If another bride has booked for the same day then consider coordinating your floral ideas and splitting the costs between the two of you. This can cut the cost of your flowers in half.

Tips & Warnings
Although you are the boss, allow your florist some flexibility. They may know of cheaper options to get the look you want. Try not to ban any flowers unless you're allergic or really detest them.
