How to Create a Dark Knight Costume
The dark knight is, of course, Batman! This is the costume that many trick-or-treaters will want to be for Halloween. It's fun and pretty simple to put together, considering the high availability of all things Batman. The dark knight is quick to fight crime. He aims to stand up for what's right and do the right thing. However, he will not hesitate to get down and dirty with the criminals in order to beat them at their own game. He's a man's man...or, rather, a man's batman!

Put on a muscle chest black bodysuit. You want to have the basics covered first. The dark knight has armor built into his body suit. With abs of steel as a part of the suit design, you want your costume to emulate the same look. You may try to pulling off the look with the use of your own abs if you have a very built upper body, but it's best to go with the authentic costume.

Secure a gold "bat" belt around your bodysuit. This is a focal point of your costume. It defines your pride in what you do and the service you provide to the Gotham public.

Slip on the headpiece/mask. Batman is always concealed with this black mask and headpiece with two pointed ears at the top. It helps to establish the "bat" part of this man.

Add on a long, black cape. This is an essential part of your costume. It helps you to glide and "fly."

Strap on some black boots. With strong boots that can propel you to hang on to the tops of cars and climb up walls, a dark knight needs some strong foot support. Feel your power as you slip into your boots.

Grab some accessories for use in fighting crime. A Batmobile is a fun idea to toy with if you can also dress up your car. It could be just slight touches to it. For those of us without this option, you could also grab a climbing hook or other tool that you can use in your pursuit of justice.

Wait until close to party time to put on this costume. It can get a bit stuffy if it's a warm Halloween night.
