1
Make eyeballs. Get some white marbles from a toy or craft store and paint a black dot in the center with a black paint pen. Create little red squiggly lines around the rest of the white marble with a fine red paint pen to serve as bloodshot, broken blood vessels.
-
2
Paint rocks. Rinse the rocks, removing any dirt and debris. Once they are dry, use paint pens to adorn each with a little smiley face, stars, squiggles, bugs or other fast and easy-to-draw illustrations.

Spruce up seashells. An unexpected and wonderful treat for trick-or-treaters would be a seashell. Collect shells from the beach or buy them in bulk at craft supply stores. You can dole out the shells unadorned or use paint pens to jazz them up with faces, eyes and simple designs.

Sticks stuck with little tufts of hair and a face drawn on them can also make for a funny, funky treat. Collect sticks about the size of a pencil--or use a pencil. Glue a dab of fake fur on the top with a craft glue and use a paint pen to draw on a pair of eyes and a mouth. Paint on other adornments, like buttons, arms or feet, as desired.

Keep an eye open year round at dollar stores, yard sales and thrift shops. Anytime you see items for a nickel or sold in bulk, snatch them up for future trick-or-treaters. The same goes for any interesting rocks, shells or other debris you can quickly turn into art.

Tips & Warnings
If you have a lot of patience, you can glue plastic google eyes on any of the items to add a cute personality. Google eyes are sold in packets at craft supply stores.
Spray your painted goodies with a clear sealer, such as polyurethane, so the paint is less likely to chip off.
You can create a combination of the treats to mix it up a bit.
Either hand out the treats yourself or put them all in a big bowl or container and let the trick-or-treaters stick their hand in and blindly choose.
