A floral centerpiece with a photo is more decorative and personal for tables at a wedding reception than a typical metal clip with a large table number sticking out of it. This centerpiece will allow the wedding guests to figure out the assigned seating, while adding a personal touch to everyone’s dining experience. This centerpiece will also be low on the table so it won’t interfere with conversations between guests.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Half sphere floral foam with a 10- to 12-inch diameter
  • Assorted silk flowers
  • Large paper clip
  • Two 5 x 7-inch photos of the happy couple
  • Camera
  • Two sided tape
  1. Step 1

Take pictures of the couple together holding a piece of paper with the table number on it. To make it a little more personal, the couple can have pictures taken of themselves holding a favorite item or doing a favorite activity. For example, if the couple’s favorite activity is bowling, they can have a picture taken of them holding their bowling balls. That table with the bowling picture would be known as "the bowling table."

  2. Step 2

When the pictures are developed and enlarged into 5 x 7-inch photos, use the two-sided tape to attach the photos back-to-back. This will allow the guest on either side of the table to see the photo.

  3. Step 3

Insert the large paper clip half way into the top center of the floral foam so that the double loop end of the paper clip is sticking up.

  4. Step 4

Cut the stems of the flowers 1 inch down from the base of the flower. It is best to choose flowers with open blossoms so that the petals will overlap a little.

  5. Step 5

Start at the paper clip and insert the flowers into the floral foam, moving in a circular pattern around the paper clip. Make sure the flowers are close enough so that the foam is not visible. Continue this to the base of the floral foam.

  6. Step 6

Insert the back-to-back photo into the paper clip at the top of the floral foam. The picture should look like it is sitting in the flowers.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can also use real flowers for this centerpiece.
  • After the wedding, collect the photos and add them to your photo album or memory box.
  • If you didn’t want to use a photo in the centerpiece, you can create the same type of centerpiece, but at the top of the floral foam, glue a glass votive holder. You can then add a candle instead of a photo.
  • Have a couple of extra photos and flowers handy in case you run into any problems or a photo gets scratched.
