1
Pick out the material you want to use. A soft, tight weave material works well for these bags. Cut it to measure 6 inches by 18 inches. Fold it in half, inside out. Fold down the top 1 inch and tuck up under 1/8 inch. Iron it with these folds.
-
2
Turn to the right side of the material. At the top and in the middle of one side, mark two lines 1/4 inch long. Sew in button holes where you have made these marks and use a sewing knife or razor blade to open up the button holes. Turn it back inside out.

3
Sew up each side about 1/2 inch in, all the way to the top. Fold the top back to your iron marks and sew all the way around on within the 1/8 inch fold that you made. Turn the bag back to the right side.

4
Fasten a safety pin to the end of your rope or ribbon and put into one button hole. Work it around and pull it out the other button hole. Tie knots in the ends of the rope or ribbon so it won't pull through the button hole by accident.

Personalize the bag. Cut two small squares out of the felt. Glue dots to the squares to make them look like dice. Glue the squares on the front of your bag. This is where you can really personalize your bag. Stencil on your name with fabric paint. Sew or glue on some sequins.
