How to Get Rid of a Cold Sore With Home Remedies
Cold sores can be a major pain and inconvenience. They can affect your speech and eating. They might even be visible on your lips and be embarrassing so you just pray they will go away. But all that stressing will just make them worse as they are often triggered by stress. There are several ways to get rid of a cold sore but you have to stick to the plan and be patient.

- Hydrogen peroxide
- Salt
- Vaseline
- Chapstick
- Tea tree oil
- Cotton ball
- 1 cup of water

Get a cup and fill it up halfway with lukewarm water. Add in salt and stir the salt into the water so it becomes a salt water solution. Pour a little bit of salt water into your mouth and swish it around on the side where the blister is. Swish for thirty seconds and then spit the solution out.

Pour some hydrogen peroxide on a cotton ball. Press the cotton ball to your cold sore and hold on the sore two minutes. The sore should foam up and turn white. This is normal. The peroxide is just killing the germs on the sore. Rinse with water immediately after. Repeat several times a day.

Apply Chapstick to your lips throughout the day to keep your lips moist and prevent more cold sores. Dab a small amount of Vaseline on the cold sore to soothe any pain. Replenish throughout the day as needed.

Wash your hands throughly with soap then dry your hands with a clean towel. Pour a small amount of tea tree oil on your fingertips. Gently rub the oil on your cold sore. Make sure you cover the entire sore including the surrounding area directly around the sore so it doesn't spread further. The tea tree oil is soothing and should calm the sore.

Drink lots of water to clean out not only your mouth but your body. Try to avoid stress as stress is a trigger for cold sores. Eat a healthy, well balanced diet but avoid acidic and citrus filled foods that will irritate your sore. Be patient and continue using your hydrogen peroxide, tea tree oil, salt water and Vaseline and your cold sore will be gone in no time.
