Wear Floral Prints in Fall

Floral prints are an unusual pattern for fall and it can be tricky to pull off a flattering look. However, in just a few simple steps, you can wear floral prints in fall and look pretty and comfortable.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Floral print skirt/shirt
  • Solid-colored clothing
  1. Step 1

Look for a floral print that has popular colors for fall. Purples, browns, reds, black, white and orange are all fall colors that can easily be used in florals. In summer and spring, you can wear many-colored flowers, but you don't want that for fall. In fall, you want two or three colors in your print. So, orange, purple and brown or black, red and white would be acceptable. The fewer colors, the better.

  2. Step 2

Choose big, bold prints. The prints shouldn't be the tiny flowers of summer. If the flowers run into one another, that's all the better. You do want bright colors, as well. They should be big and eye-catching.

  3. Step 3

Pair floral prints with a matching solid. If you're wearing a flower shirt, choose pants or a skirt that complement it. Colored jeans can easily match a floral print shirt.

  4. Step 4

Step out knowing that you look good, you're stylish and you're ready for fall. If you think it's going to be cool out, prepare with a solid-colored sweater, jacket or a pair of pants or leggings (if you're wearing a skirt).

Tips & Warnings
  • Floral print dresses that have a band around your waist in a dark color will make your waist look smaller. If you're bringing a sweater, try and have it match the band color. If you want to emphasize your waist in a loose-flowing outfit, tie in a belt that matches the color of one of the flowers in your floral print.
