Play Cricket in Darts

One of my favorite ways of taking a break from the every day stress of life is to throw a game of darts. Cricket is one of my favorite games. Read on for an explanation of how the game works.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • dart board
  • darts
  1. Step 1

Looking for a great way to relax and have fun-filled evening? Then you need to play some darts. The idea in cricket is unlike other games you may play, like 301, 501, etc. In cricket, there are certain numbers you must close out in order to finish the game. To start with, labeled on the dart board is one through twenty. You are responsible for hitting fifteen through twenty, and also the bullseye.

  2. Step 2

For each number fifteen through twenty, you must hit them all three times to close that number. Remember, darts that land in the double or triple ring count as doubles and triples, so if you hit a triple twenty on your first dart, you can now move on to nineteen, and so on. The first person, or team, to close out all numbers and the bullseye are the winner.

  3. Step 3

Now the kicker to the game. Every time that you hit a number that you have already closed, and the other person or team you are playing against has not closed this number, you get that value in points. For example, if you have closed twenty and your opponent has not, you can aim for twenties and point them. With a point advantage, the other team cannot win until they close everything, and then hit what you have not closed to regain the point lead. For example, lets you say threw two twenty darts, giving you 40 points. Now through the progression of the close game, the other team closes all numbers and the bullseye, but has no points yet, they do not win. They have to select a number, or possibly have to hit additional bullseyes, until they overcome the points you have accumulated.

  4. Step 4

Always remember to have fun. This is a game you can play right in your home, or possibly in a local bar or pub. There is no reason to argue or fight when the game of darts is, in my opinion, a great way to wind down a horrible day.
